LACPlan:
Weaving communities, land, and leadership into a shared future

We are an Action Tank driving positive change
LACPlan seeks to promote an emancipated, sustainable, and peaceful Latin America and Caribbean by:
-
Creating and sustaining virtuous environments of reciprocal learning among diverse communities—urban and rural, local, ancestral, and global;
-
Mending broken bonds and weaving new connections between communities, governments, and the land itself, toward a new Latin American and Caribbean ecology and identity, grounded in inclusivity, democracy, and regeneration;
-
Enabling collaborative design and planning for a world that can endure forever with us—humans—within it, fostering a truly Latin American and Caribbean way of inhabiting this earth and preserving it;
-
Inspiring us to pursue, tirelessly, its large-scale implementation;
-
And building and safeguarding the leadership, institutions, and governance frameworks that will make our collective effort possible.
Core Research Areas

1
Strategic Regional Planning
We help the region address the challenges of climate change, peace, and security -food, water, energy- through proactive regional planning for the design of robust policies, the promotion of more sustainable land use, and the transition to more caring economies.
2
Regenative Communities
We imagine ways to achieve a region that is affordable for all, working with communities on local plans that promote healthy, happy, inclusive and resilient multi-species habitats.
3
Reweaving Institutions & Leadership
We redesign our institutional and leadership landscape for a governance of our future that transcends administrative and epistemic boundaries in our region.
